Review the gate, not the keystroke

For a while I babysat every agent run, reading each step as it landed. It felt responsible. It was mostly anxiety wearing a lab coat.

The change was to write the gates down first: the two or three moments in a task where a bad decision is expensive and hard to unwind. A schema migration, a payment path, anything a customer sees. Between those gates, the agent runs. At each gate, I read.

The result is not less oversight, it is oversight aimed at the places it earns its keep. Autonomy is not the absence of review. It is review moved to where the risk is.
